Part 1: Adora getting ready in the morning, brushing her teeth and casually punching a punching bag. As she's about to leave, she catches sight of a poster on the punching bag and asks, "Hey Princess, you looking at me?" And then she kicks the bag on her way out.
Part 2: She's got on VR gear as she and her team line up to run through a training simulation. Adora asks anyone if they've seen Catra and no one has, much to her annoyance. The trainer asks, "Where is Cadet Catra?" Adora immediately vouches for her anyway. "She'll be here, don't worry."
Part 3: The trainer gives an introduction to the simulation, and how they are infiltrating Brightmoon, the stronghold of the princesses. As they run in, they start navigating the Whispering Woods, and fending off droids posing as Princesses. Eventually, one of the Cadets gets "hit". "Oh come on Kyle!" "Seriously Kyle?!"
They abandon him and keep moving forward. Eventually Adora triggers trap squares and has to roll away from the group, where she meets the biggest droid, the "queen." Adora starts to dispatch the droid, and with her final hit, gets knocked back. It's at that point that Catra shows up, and kicks the droid into the floor, finishing it. Adora asks her, "Where were you?"
Catra points at the floor, and the tile is lighting up red, indicating it's about to fall. Adora starts to fall, but extends her baton to catch herself. Catra leans over the edge and the first, "Hey, Adora." is said.
Adora grumbles in annoyance, "Of course you show up after all the hard stuff's done."
Catra teases her more, but ends with, "Besides, you look ridiculous down there, come on." And extends a hand, lifting her out of the crevice.
Younger Adora and Catra are fighting with batons, in a training simulation. Catra, at one point gets Adora distracted and pokes her forehead with her claw, and laughs. Then they start fighting again.
Catra jumps on top of Adora's baton, and Adora uses the chance to grab her feet and flip her over. Catra takes advantage and starts crying like Adora seriously hurt her. Adora, immediately, runs over to check on her to make sure she's okay.
Adora: You okay?
Catra sneak attacks and knocks Adora on her back. It looks like Catra's about to win, when Adora looks at something behind her. Catra notices, and manages to block Lonnie. Compared to Adora, Catra quickly dispatches her. But the distraction proves enough to let Adora win the training exercise.
Trainer: And there's our winner.
Adora smiles and then helps Catra up, while Catra gives an annoyed grunt.
Trainer:Good work, Cadet. I like your focus. This win will definitely be reported back to Lord Hordak.
Catra, to Lonnie in the background: What was that?! Way to gang up on me!
Lonnie:You were fighting dirty. I was just leveling the field.
Catra starts to growl in anger when Adora comes over and grabs her shoulder with a grin, seemingly unaware of the fight in the background.
Adora: Hey! You were awesome! Did I hurt you?
Catra: (immediate change of voice to friendly) No! I'm fine. You're just lucky I let you win.
Adora: Riiiiiight.
Catra: I'm serious! If I came in first, people might actually expect me to start doing stuff around here. Trust me, second place suits me just fine.
Adora: Yeah, okay. C'mon, let's go cool down.
Catra: In a minute, I'll meet you there.
Adora: Hey guys, wait up!
Catra stalks off while Adora goes to talk to the other cadets.
Catra and Adora again, about 7-8 years old. They are running through the hallways of the Fright Zone, playing together as kids do. They look to be playing a version of "The Floor is Lava."
Adora: Catra! Wait up!
Adora hops down from the ceiling next to Catra with a crash.
Catra: What's it like being the world's slowest person?!
Then they switch to tag, with Adora chasing Catra. Eventually, they come across a room.
Adora: Woah! It's open! We're definitely not allowed in there!
Adora and Catra exchange a look-- and then Adora runs towards the open room first. They see a large, crimson crystal, and exchange "Woahs." Catra walks close to the crystal, trying to get a good loook at it, while Adora hangs back. Catra pokes it with her claw and gets shocked with a squeak. Adora is having second thoughts.
Adora: May-Maybe we should get outta here...
And then someone groans, drawing both of their attention. They run to hide. As they do, Shadow Weaver stumbles in, groaning, in pain, and weak. She touches the crystal and seems to be relieved after that. She takes off her mask, and Adora gasps at seeing her real face, drawing her attention.
Shadow Weaver:Get out!
Both Catra and Adora gasp in horror and start to bolt for the door. But the door is blocked.
Shadow Weaver: Catra, you stay.
Adora turns around, and sees that Catra is frozen in place mid gait.
Shadow Weaver: What do you think you are doing here?
Catra's body is contortioned to be standing straight up, and then turned around to face Shadow Weaver and dragged closer by magic. Shadow Weaver snaps her mask on.
Catra: W-We were just playing!
Shadow Weaver: Insolent child! I've come to expect such disgraceful behavior from you, but I will not allow you to drag Adora down as well.
Adora: Shadow Weaver! It wasn't her fault! It was my idea too!
Shadow Weaver: (to Catra) You have never been anything more than an nuisance to me.
Black shadows start to appear around Catra.
Shadow Weaver: I've kept you around this long because Adora was fond of you. But if you ever do anything to jeopardize her future, I will dispose of you myself. Do you understand?
Adora shoves herself between Catra and Shadow Weaver.
Adora:Please, stop!
Shadow Weaver stops at that and backs away, but Catra is still frozen in place. Adora glances back at her, and then runs after Shadow Weaver.
Adora: She didn't mean to!
Shadow Weaver: Adora, you must do a better job of keeping her under control.
The magic drops and Catra collapses to the ground. Shadow Weaver then tucks a piece of Adora's hair behind her ear, and pats her on the head. Her tone is much fonder.
Shadow Weaver: Do not let something like this happen again.
Adora and Catra are then allowed to leave Shadow Weaver's room.
Catra (aged 6-ish) is running, crying down the hallway. She eventually finds a small, dark corner to hide herself in, where she can cry alone.
A short second after, Adora runs in.
Adora: Catra! Catra, come out. I know you didn't mean to hit Lonnie. It's okay, I'll tell them. They won't be mad. But first you gotta come out and tell her you're sorry.
Adora is looking around for Catra, and is able to spot her by her ears twitching. She approaches her hiding spot and sits next to her.
Adora: We were all just having fun. You didn't have to do it... Why'd you do it?
Catra reacts badly to that question and scratches Adora on the face and kicks her back. Adora's shocked, and looks back at Catra, hurt, starting to cry.
Catra and Adora are in a locker room, and Adora is hanging up her training gear while Catra gets in her space to giggle and tease.
Catra: You should've seen your face! You were like, 'AUUUUGHHH NOOOOOO betrayaaaaaaal'...!
As she does this, she mocks the face Adora apparently made while Adora rolls her eyes and grins.
Adora: Oh, come on, Catra. (she closes the locker) We're senior cadets now. I can't believe you're still pulling such childish, immature-- IS THAT A MOUSE!?
As Adora says this, she points in a random direction, and Catra immediately jumps to attention, her tail and hair floofing out, and her claws extended.
Catra: WHAT, WHERE???
Adora doubles over laughing.
Adora: Are you... ever... going to not fall for that?
Catra: I dunno. Are you ever going to let it go? That was one time.
Catra folds her arms over her chest.
Adora: I know... But for some reason, it's-it's always funny.
Shadow Weaver: Adora!
Adora immediately jumps to attention, while Catra slowly moves to stand straighter. Shadow Weaver approaches them both.
Adora: Shadow Weaver.
SW: You have done well. You've completed your training course in record time.
Adora: Well, that wasn't just me, y'know. Catra did too!
As she says this, Adora puts her arm around Catra and pulls her in close.
SW: (BORED) Ah yes. How someone as unmotivated as you completed the course in that time, I'll never know.
Catra: Always serving up those pep talks, huh, Shadow Weaver.
SW:Silence. Do not be flippant with me, Cadet.
Shadows start to surround primarily Catra, who looks annoyed by the process, while Adora stands straighter and looks nervously between the two of them.
Catra: (grudgingly) Sorry, Shadow Weaver.
The shadows abate.
SW: Adora, walk with me.
Adora glances at Catra, who shrugs, and then moves to follow Shadow Weaver.
SW: Adora! Lord Hordak has been watching you. He thinks you are a fine candidate for Force Captain.
Adora: Really...? Force Captain? Lord Hordak said that about me?
SW: Oh yes. He sees great promise in you. In fact, he's selected you for the honor of leading a squadron in the invasion of the rebel fortress of Thaymor.
Adora: Thaymor? You mean we're... finally seeing active duty...?
SW:You are seeing active duty.
Adora: But... I'll be able to bring my team along, right?
SW: Your team is not ready. They'll only slow you down.
Adora: Shadow Weaver, with respect, they've been training hard for this too. And Catra, all she wants is to get out there and prove herself.
SW: Then she should have worked harder to prove herself to me. This is what I raised you for, Adora. Now this is your chance to prove yourself.
Shadow Weaver hands Adora a force captain badge. When Adora takes it, Shadow Weaver reaches up to stroke her cheek.
SW: I saw talent in you the moment I found you as an orphan child and took you in. Is this not what you wanted since you were old enough to want anything?
Adora: Yes.
SW: With you at the forefront, we will crush the Brightmoon rebellion once and for all. Do not disappoint me.
Adora is running through through a forest as ■■■■■. She starts to glow, and sudden realization dawns on her.
Adora: Oh no!
She runs into the tower to find ■■■■■■■, who is obviously a hologram, and she sees her in front of a pattern of Etheria. As she enters, ■■■■■■■ is raising a holographic sword over the pattern.
Adora: You don't have to do this! ■■■■■■■! Please... Don't do this.
■■■■■■■ turns towards her.
Mystery: Good. You are here. Now we can begin. After a thousand years, my programming will be fulfilled. The heart of Etheria will be unleashed against the First Ones' enemies.
Adora's sword starts to raise above her head automatically, and she clings to it.
Adora: No-- th-th-there are no First Ones anymore! Whatever war they were fighting, it's long over!
As she speaks, something like gridlines begin to glow on Adora's arms, as she holds the sword in front of her. As Adora struggles, ■■■■■■■ speaks.
Mystery: The First Ones will rise again. You are a descendant of their mighty Empire. That is why I used all my strength to reach across the entire universe to find you... and bring you here.
Adora: ... You told me Hordak was the one who brought me through the portal. You told me he stole me! But it was you all along! All of this is because of you!
With some effort Adora fights the control on her body and slams the sword into the ground.
Mystery: This is your intended function. You will bring the First Ones to glory. It is what you were born to do.
Adora: No... No! I won't!
Mystery: The Heart of Etheria has been activated. You will be the one to fire it. There is no stopping it now.
Adora is screams as more glowing lines form on her face and body. Transluscent flames start to surround her sword.
Adora: It-- won't-- work! ■■■■ hid us in ■■■■■■■■ so you couldn't hurt anyone else!
■■■■■■■'s face flashes.
Mystery: ■■■■... [flash] ■■■■'s interference caused a significant delay. But no longer. With the planet balanced, portal capability is restored. Initiate planetary move. Out of ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■.
Adora screams as flames erupt from her face.
Mystery: The Heart is primed and ready. Commencing activation.
Adora's screams taper off. She starts pleading again.
Adora: Look at all these stars! These worlds! They... will all be destroyed! ■■■■ sacrificed her life to stop this from happening!
Mystery: ■■■■... ■■■■ would not want me to-- [flash] ■■■■ was a traitor. She turned against her people.
Adora: ■■■■ was your friend--agh! She knew you were more than just a program! ... And so do I! You can stop this!
Mystery: ... I am not as strong as ■■■■. I cannot change my programming. This is our destiny.
The gem on Adora's sword turns from blue to dark purple. And starts to raise again.
Adora:No! This is not my destiny!
Mystery: You will comply.
The sword flies up against Adora's will.
Adora: No, no, no-- aaaaahhhh!
The sword starts to absorb the flames as Adora holds it up.
Mystery: It is time.
Adora: ... I won't be controlled. I am not a piece of their machine. ... I'm not a weapon. And I'm... going... to... end... this... now!
Adora pulls the sword down.
Mystery: No! Stop! Dont-- [flash] do it. Do it! Don't-- ... Do it.
As the sword glows brightly, Adora turns it down, and slams it into the ground, shattering it. She gets knocked out for a moment in the blast, and wakes up as herself again, with ■■■■■■■ reaching out to her, her hand on her shoulder.
Mystery: Adora... Thank you.
And then ■■■■■■■ flickers out, leaving Adora alone in darkness.
HP: I thought the First Ones were all gone, but clearly some faction remains. That race of tyrants abandoned you on a forgotten planet in a shadow dimension. They made you their weapon. Their… She-ra.
A: I don’t fight for the first ones. I fight for my home, for myself and for my friends. Now, for the last time… where is Catra?
C: Adora…?
A: Catra?! Where are you…?
HP: Of course… your Catra. She hoped you would come for her. Poor thing. So all I had to do was wait. As she would’ve said… You are so very predictable. Come here, child.
[he gestures off screen and adora turns to look]
C: Hello, Adora.
A: What did you do to her?!
HP: I have made her anew. I saw her mind. So ensnared in rage, and grief and pain. And I brought her to the light. Isn’t that right, Little Sister?
A: Catra! You have to fight it!
C: My place is with Horde Prime, Adora. I don’t want to leave.
HP: Tell her what I’ve done for you.
C: Prime has given me peace. Something you could never do. You broke my heart, but he has made it whole again. Don’t you see? This is for the best. I’m happy here. You could be happy too.
[catra reaches her hand to touch adora’s cheek and smiles gently. A tear escapes from adora’s eyes before her resolve hardens.]
A: Let her go.
[Horde Prime puts his hand on Catra’s shoulder, and she gasps lightly, looking to be in pain.
HP: Shall we make a deal, Adora? I will give her to you, if you want her. But first, you must do something for me. You… will give me She-Ra.
A: Never.
HP: … Very well.
[he snaps his finger and her comms piece shorts out with a high pitched squeal in her ear, and she collapses to the ground, covering that ear.]
HP: You miscalculated! I see all! I know all! You thought yourself worthy to challenge me?! But you are nothing but a false hero! The last of the First Ones to fall at my hands! You have led your friends to destruction.
[Catra’s eyes return to normal for a moment, long enough for Adora to notice and gasp in surprise]
HP: Go on, fulfill your purpose. Bring out She-ra, and strike me down. … Ahh, but you two must have a lot of catching up to do.
[he pats Catra’s head as he walks away]
HP: Let me know when you’re ready to make a deal.
[catra’s claws extend, and then she punches Adora. They tussle back and forth, with Adora seeming to pull Catra’s arm back and subdue her for a moment.]
A: Catra, listen to me. I know you are still in there, and I am not leaving without you. It’s gonna be okay.
[then catra strikes her and slices her leg open, reversing the grip.]
C: Everything is already okay. We are with Prime now. There is no need for you to suffer… Come into the light with me, Adora.
[and then adora flips her over her shoulder, and as Catra falls, something changes in her demeanor and she starts to laugh nervously]
A: Snap out of it, Catra! I don’t wanna hurt you!
C: But you have already hurt me. Prime has set me free of that pain. The pain that you caused. He will set us free, forever, a world of peace without end.
[then catra leaps off and they tussle again, before Catra gets dangerously close to a ledge. Adora reaches out]
A: Catra!
[catra glances back, and then smirks and laughs at Adora, before purposefully stepping back towards the ledge, causing Adora to rush forward to catch her before she falls, and Adora pulls her back, holding her close… Allowing for Catra to dig her claws into her back and down. Catra’s voice has Horde Prime overlaid for now]
C/HP: Oh, Adora. How long will you drag this out…? You will destroy the ones you love in the process.
[and then Catra knees her in the gut, and drags her so that she’s holding her over the ledge]
C/HP: She was afraid in the end. And she suffered. Perhaps, I will make her my new vessel? Though, she would no last me long. What do you think?
[adora, lunges forward in a rage with a yell, slamming catra back— and then Catra’s eyes return to normal for just a moment. Then the room shakes uneasily, before Adora focuses back on her.]
A: I am not giving up on you, Catra.
C: Then you are a fool. You cannot stop Horde Prime. He will reign triumphant over all the universe. It is… destiny.
[then the screen Adora slammed her into gives off a shock, and catra screams in pain]
A: No!
[she grabs catra and pulls her close again, and away from the screen as it starts to explode. Finally, adora pushes them both out of the way, and sees the chip on Catra’s neck.
Then catra turns, and her eyes are normal again.]
C: Adora… you should have stayed away! Why did you come back?! We both know I don’t matter!
A: You matter to me!
[adora places her hand on Catra’s cheek, when her eyes go green again, and she shoves Adora away. And walks deliberately towards the ledge again. Crying in pain as she does]
A: Come on, Catra! You’ve never listened to anyone in your life, are you really going to start now?!
[Catra turns towards her, her eyes normal again]
C: You’re such an idiot!
A: Yeah! I know! [catra laughs helplessly, curling in on herself.] I’m going to take you home.
C: … P-promise…?
A: [as she’s reaching her hand out] I promise.
C: [starts to reach her hand out] Adora…
[and then her eyes change green again, and she pulls back]
C/HP: … Disappointing. Some creatures are destined only for destruction.
[Then the chip shocks catra again, and she screams, before falling into the abyss. Adora runs to chase her,]
A: NO!
[she stares for only a second, before jumping after her, and that’s where the memory ends.]
The summary is this memory is the wargaming that they do to try and take back a point from the Horde. Adora is the only one taking it seriously, while the rest of the princesses make ever more far-fetched scenarios.
The specific scenario in this memory is Bow's: all of the She-ra characters are in their 80s outfits, and they are somehow effortlessly sneaking in to this check point.
Eventually, they run across Bow's version of Catra, who makes terrible cat puns with him, and then eventually turns into a literal cat, because he "ran out of figures."
Adora... is understandably confused and frustrated.
There are machines all over Etheria. They scan and corner some random Etherians, until Adora knocks them down after sneak attacking with her baton. What follows is a montage of her fighting with Bow, Perfuma, Frosta, and Mermista.
At one point, Bow calls for a retreat after they save the citizens, but Adora decides to aggress anyway, trying to eliminate them. She at some point holds up her baton and calls out, "FOR THE HONOR OF--oh." Clearly expecting something different.
And then she gets knocked down until she can't get up, and Mermista runs to her to tell her, "Adora, chill. You're not She-Ra anymore!" Adora insists she's fine, and immediately runs back into the fray, despite Mermista's immediate frustration with her.
Adora (as She-Ra), Bow, Spinerella, and Netossa go to try and capture a secret weapon that Catra was supposed to be moving that day. But despite their successful ambush, they find that the weapon wasn't transported, and are then ambushed by bots.
When they get back to the camp, they nurse their wounds as Glimmer starts to apologize for not pulling her weight. Adora reassures her that they know she's more important back in Brightmoon. But Swiftwind interrupts and says he's managed to track the transport trail to the mountains. Glimmer's guard comments that a smaller team should be able to get in and get out unnoticed. Adora and Bow immediately volunteer, as does Netossa. Spinerella tries to dissuade her, but she points out to the rest of the group that Spinny is just doing that because she knows Netossa took down two more bots than her.
Either way, they all plan to follow up this tip from Swiftwind.
Adora, Bow, Glimmer, and Entrapta, are on a First One's space ship on a foreign planet. Adora watches Glimmer apologize to Bow for the mistake she made with the Heart of Etheria, and tells him that he gets to be mad as long as he wants. But she'll still be there. He tells her okay.
And Adora turns, at first in relief, but then sadness, as she looks out at the stars, and realizes Catra's still out there.
Glimmer: Adora? You okay?
Adora: Yeah... I just... Look. I know this is gonna sound crazy and dangerous and I know Catra was our enemy and she's done a lot of bad things and hurt a lot of people but--
Glimmer: You wanna go back for her.
Adora: *nods sadly* I can't just leave her there. I have to try.
Glimmer: Catra sacrificed herself to save me. Whatever you need to do-- I'm with you.
A continuation of the wargaming episode. Adora gets pressed on what could possibly go wrong?
And she loses it. She walks through every possible step of how and why Catra would be able to pull them apart, and that any bad things that happened would be her fault personally. There's a long pause, before Glimmer tells her all the bad things that happened-- that she was captured by Shadow Weaver, taken to the Fright Zone, lost her powers, etc. Bow tries to tell her she's not helping.
But she continues, explaining that bad things are going to happen. But figure out the things you can control, or trust that your friends will have your back for the rest. It's at this point that all of the princesses reassure her that they've got her back.
Adora, Bow, Glimmer, and Swiftwind are headed to Alwyn. Swiftwind says he senses something weird, but Glimmer reassures everyone that Alwyn is just an orchard-- except it is abandoned, leaving the group bewildered about what had just happened there.
They don't see anything, or anyone. And when Bow tries to use his trackerpad to detect Horde soldiers, the noise it emits is extremely painful. Nails on chalk painful. Glimmer says they'll get past it, even if there were rumors of Alwyn being haunted, which Adora immediately latches onto it. And then starts regaling them of ghost stories Shadow Weaver told her as a child, such as the vengeful weeping Princess ghost. As Adora finishes her tale, a loud noise goes off, pulling the group's attention back to the town.
This memory takes place in the Fright Zone. Adora, Catra, and Netossa are trying to sneak around to find Scorpia.
How do they know? Well, Perfuma starts yelling Scorpia's name, trying to call out to her. Catra looks at Adora, and says, "Your plans are, like, the worst." They dart after Perfuma, while Netossa complains about no one understanding stealth.
Then they find Scorpia. Perfuma runs towards her thinking she's okay, and Adora has to leap in to save her from Scorpia's blast. And then Scorpia sees Catra... and literally blasts her into a completely different room, leaving Melog to chase after her. Adora freaks out, but doesn't have much time to deal with it, before Scorpia rounds on her, and she has to use her sword to transform into She-Ra, stopping both the blast and the oncoming machinery.
Netossa says, "I think she recognizes us!" And Perfuma quips, "It's Catra. Can we really blame her?"
Then, Perfuma complains that Horde Prime's negative vibes must be blocking Scorpia's good vibes. And, well, it is at that moment that She-Ra goes to pick up a tank to throw it back at Scorpia, and Perfuma yells, "SHE-RA! PUT! IT! DOWN! WE DO NOT THROW TANKS AT OUR FRIENDS!" Much to Adora's annoyance.
But she puts it down and yells back, "Then THINK of something, because this isn't working!"
Netossa tells Perfuma that she could be the strongest princess, if she'd just stop worrying about hurting people, to which Perfuma responds, "I am strong! But I'm not gonna hurt my friends!" And she starts to walk towards Scorpia, while Adora mutters that she wishes she'd stop doing that. She pleads that she doesn't have to do this. For a second it looks like she gets through, then Scorpia attacks, and Adora saves her.
Adora's sword melds and changes, turning into a whip that she uses to grab Scorpia, who she watches struggle against the control, before she blasts Adora back into Netossa's nets. Adora watches her sword flicker after the damage-- and then Spinnerella shows up, immediately pulling Netossa away.
Finally, Scorpia picks up the tank that Adora had put down, and Adora, offended, points at her and says accusingly at Perfuma, "Oh, so she gets to throw tanks at us!"
Adora is fighting as She-ra, when a tank shot knocks the sword of power out of her hands and into the water. Dazed, she tries to find it until Catra calls her attention.
C: Hey, Adora.
A: Catra. Surprised to see me?
C: Not really. I figured it wouldn't that easy to get rid of you.
Adora then leaps and slams her fists into the tank, destroying it. But Catra leaps out of the way and onto floating rocks.
C: You know... I'm actually glad you did make it out of there alive. Because now? I can take you out myself.
Catra looses her claws at that point, and leaps back towards Adora/She-Ra. They right on the cliffs, and Catra keeps dodging until there's space between her and Adora, who is winded from earlier fighting.
C: Tired? Already? I thought punching was supposed to be, like, the one thing you're good at?
Adora throws a pebble at her while she's taunting her, and she squeaks.
A: And I thought you were supposed to be quicker.
It's at this point she leaps up, pushing Catra near the edge, and then destroying the next rock she lands on. They both land on the ground and start circling each other.
A: Give it up, Catra. There's no way you win this.
C: I've already made it a lot further than anyone thought I would.
She kicks a rock at Adora's face. And uses the advantage to jump onto her back, drawing her claws deep into her shoulders. And then after using the floating rocks to obscure her movements, she hops back down and scratches her cheek. Adora is undaunted.
A: This isn't over!
C: Of course it isn't over! It won't be over until Brightmoon is destroyed and the Rebellion falls! It won't be over until darkness covers Etheria. And it won't be over until I see the looks on your friends' faces when they discover that you failed. That you were too weak to save them.
It's at this point that after minor panicking, Adora pulls a boulder 75% buried into the ground and throws it at Catra, who only just barely catches herself off the cliff. But now, Adora has the high ground. She grabs Catra by the shirt, and then slams her into the cliff side.
A: Enough. You've lost, Catra.
C: ... You sure about that?
And it is at that point Adora focuses back on the actual battle, where the Horde forces are overwhelming Brightmoon, and gasps in horror. Angella's barrier collapses and she realizes that Catra's plan was to keep her distracted.
C: What, did you really think this was about you?
She pushes against the wall and slams adora into the ground before hopping up onto a floating rock, examining her nails.
C: That runestone's your last defense... Isn't it? Have fun.
She-ra, Bow, Glimmer, and Seahawk are all walking through a blizzard-y paradise. Only, apparently She-ra doesn't need copious amounts of warm clothing as they do.
S: Come to think of it, Mermista never invites me to hang out with her other friends. I mean... [he laughs nervously] Am I not "cool" enough for them? I am so cool! I'm Seahawk!
(He is pointedly being ignored by Adora, who is who he is talking to.)
Adora stops when she sees tracks.
G: What's wrong? Did you see something?
A: No... I think there's something else out here.
Seahawk proceeds to be Seahawk, talking about all the strange things that happen in the Northern Reach. And finishes with once again asking the group if he's cool.
B: Ugh, my tracker pad's been on the fritz since that rogue communication's hub messed with it. I'm having trouble pinpointing the Horde's location.
S: WORRY NOT! We'll follow our INSTINCTS!
B: OR there's this new signal now. It's big. It looks like First One's tech signature!
A: That's where the Horde will be.
They proceed to go in the opposite direction from where Seahawk was pointing. And eventually, they come upon Catra, Scorpia, and Entrapta. Adora doesn't really know what's going on beyond "Catra is threatening someone" but interrupts anyway to get her attention.
A: Catra. It's been awhile.
C: Heeeeyyyy Adora.
A: You're pretty far from the front line. I guess Shadow Weaver's keeping you away from the action since you lost the battle of Bright Moon.
C: Shadow Weaver? Wow. I always forget how clueless you are.
A: We're here to take back this land. It's time for you to go back to the Fright Zone.
C: You want us to go?! Try and make us!
A: My pleasure!
They proceed to fight. It's very cool and action-y. They immediately split from the rest of the group because they are very clearly obsessed with each other, nbd. Adora eventually traps Catra, and places her sword in her face.
A: Don't move. C: Oh please, you'd never have the guts.
Adora relents, as much as she hates it because she knows Catra's right.
C: Y'know... as much as I love our fights, it's way too cold for this. Why don't we try something new?
Catra places the First One's virus against Adora's sword, causing her to IMMEDIATELY go berserk with a scream, her eyes turning red as she tries to legitimately kill anything that's in front of her.
**ADORA WILL NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THIS POINT ON CLEARLY**
G: Catra, what did you do!?
Adora attacks them both, but Catra runs away while Glimmer keeps trying to reason with her, so Adora focuses on the target that didn't run away.
G: I know you're still in there Adora! You've got to snap out of it! Let go of the sword! You're gonna be okay, I promise!
Adora nearly catches Glimmer, so Bow traps her in his net arrow as he and Seahawk rush to Glimmer's aid.
S: What is happening!?
Adora rushes them and strikes, getting her sword stuck in the ice as Glimmer teleports them away. And then she shatters the cliff, knocking them into the abyss. Then Catra speaks again, getting Adora's attention.
C: This is the greatest thing that has ever happened!
And now, back to legitimately trying to kill Catra. Who is on her toes because she's not used to Adora legitimately trying to kill her. Adora grabs her foot as she tries to jump over her and slams her into the ground and then tosses her. Catra starts to crawl away as Adora laughs maniacally, still legitimately trying to kill her.
C: Adora! Wait!
And the only thing that stops her is Scorpia tackling Adora and knocking the sword out of her hands. She promptly blacks out.
MEMORIES
MEMORY 1
MEMORY 2
MEMORY 3
Trainer: Good work, Cadet. I like your focus. This win will definitely be reported back to Lord Hordak.
Catra, to Lonnie in the background: What was that?! Way to gang up on me!
Lonnie: You were fighting dirty.
MEMORY 4
Shadow Weaver: Get out!
Adora: Please, stop!
MEMORY 5
MEMORY 6
SW: Silence.
SW: You are seeing active duty.
MEMORY 7
Adora: No!
MEMORY 8
MEMORY 9
The specific scenario in this memory is Bow's: all of the She-ra characters are in their 80s outfits, and they are somehow effortlessly sneaking in to this check point.
Eventually, they run across Bow's version of Catra, who makes terrible cat puns with him, and then eventually turns into a literal cat, because he "ran out of figures."
Adora... is understandably confused and frustrated.
MEMORY 10
MEMORY 11
MEMORY 12
Bow: Then let's do this. Best friend squad style.
MEMORY 13
And she loses it. She walks through every possible step of how and why Catra would be able to pull them apart, and that any bad things that happened would be her fault personally. There's a long pause, before Glimmer tells her all the bad things that happened-- that she was captured by Shadow Weaver, taken to the Fright Zone, lost her powers, etc. Bow tries to tell her she's not helping.
But she continues, explaining that bad things are going to happen. But figure out the things you can control, or trust that your friends will have your back for the rest. It's at this point that all of the princesses reassure her that they've got her back.
Bow: So... what do we do now?
Adora: We do what we do best. We improvise.
And then she transforms into She-Ra.
MEMORY 14
They don't see anything, or anyone. And when Bow tries to use his trackerpad to detect Horde soldiers, the noise it emits is extremely painful. Nails on chalk painful. Glimmer says they'll get past it, even if there were rumors of Alwyn being haunted, which Adora immediately latches onto it. And then starts regaling them of ghost stories Shadow Weaver told her as a child, such as the vengeful weeping Princess ghost. As Adora finishes her tale, a loud noise goes off, pulling the group's attention back to the town.
MEMORY 15
Before they have to run and dodge the tank.
MEMORY 16
Isn't it? Have fun.
And then Adora runs back into the main battle.
MEMORY 17
